To support the use of diploma for external requirements within the United States and internationally, the diploma displays the legal name of the individual as it appears in our official records, the degree/program earned, and the date the degree was awarded along with the seal of the University and signatures of presiding academic officers. Temple University’s academic programs and degrees offered align with accreditation standards and require Board approval. While most undergraduate majors fit Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Art degree title, other disciplines may have their own specific titles predicated by an accrediting agency and/or acceptability within its industry. Those examples include Bachelor of Business Administration; Bachelor of Science in Education; or Bachelor of Music. The undergraduate diploma displays the degree title as officially approved by the Board.
Diplomas are published in English on card stock paper with the University seal embossed in a gold foil. Students may use a translation service to have the diploma contents translated to a preferred language.

Signature authority appearing on the paper and the digital diploma includes current President, Board Secretary, Board Chair, and School/College Dean at the time of issuance or replacement.

Undergraduate Level
Students receiving an undergraduate degree will have an digital diploma that extends the paper diploma. Effective April 1, 2023, Undergraduate diplomas are printed on 8.5x11 paper regardless of the graduation year.
